BLOG SERIES: MY JOURNEY
As I was on my way to the mall one day, I caught sight of the most beautiful rainbow. This was a full rainbow that had been situated in the sky in such a way that you couldn’t help but notice it. It was vibrant and magnificently beautiful. Because I can never pass by a beautiful sky without noticing it, I immediately took notice of this rainbow and pulled over to snap a picture of it.
As I was viewing this rainbow, it reminded me of God’s presence. When you see God’s handiwork in all of its magnificent splendor, you know that you are not alone in this world. You know that there is a God behind the scenes moving, working, and creating these beautiful things for us to enjoy.
Whenever you see a beautiful architectural design, you know that there was an architect who designed it. It didn’t just materialize out of nowhere. Someone put some thought into it. They had a vision and brought that vision to life in their creation.
God also had a vision for the earth, and brought that vision to life when He spoke the world into existence. And all of creation rejoices and gives praise to the God who created it.
The rainbow I saw while on my way to the mall had spread itself across the sky and bowed down to the earth to the One who had created it. It was singing God’s praises while displaying all of its beautiful colors — red and blue, and purple, and orange, and green. It was giving praise to God for creating it!
And just like that rainbow, we should also give God praise for creating us. He formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathe into his nostrils the breath of life. And with one breath from God, man became a living soul. It’s because of God that we live, and move, and have our being. We owe our Creator some praise. He is worthy to be praised!
Psalm 148 (NKJV)
Praise to the Lord from Creation
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2 Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
3 Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4 Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
6 He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.
7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
9 Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
10 Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
11 Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
12 Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
14 And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints—
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.
Praise the Lord!
Now’s a good time to pause and give God some praise. Give your God some praise. Let Him know what He means to you. Let Him know how grateful you are that He loves you, and you love Him. Let Him know how you felt when He saved you from destruction (hell’s eternal flames). Let Him know how thankful you are to be His child (His beloved.) If the mountains can praise our God, so can we. If the sun, and the moon, and the stars can worship Him, so should we. He’s a great God! And He’s worthy to be praised!
Praise the Name of the Lord!
