I wanted to take a few moments to encourage you to hang in there. There are so many different things going on right now in each of our lives. Sometimes things can look so dark, and utterly hopeless that if we are not careful it could cause us to lose hope, or even lose our faith in God.
We each face challenges day-to-day. This world is not kind. It’s filled with challenges, obstacles, hurdles, that we must overcome. Walls that we must climb. Doors that always seem to close in our face just as we are about to walk through them. This in itself can be overwhelming and difficult to bear.
Sometimes it feels like we are struggling to push a rock, uphill.
These are the times when we naturally begin to struggle with our faith, and start asking the difficult questions: “Why would God allow me to go through this?” “Why doesn’t He step in and help me?” “Where is God in all of this?”
It’s quite natural to ask these types of questions. God understands that we have an inherent need to try and make sense of the things we don’t understand. And let’s face it, sometimes things just don’t make sense!! But, we may never get all the answers we seek. So, I guess we’ll just have to be okay with that.
Job was perplexed as to why so many “bad” things were happening to him. He wanted to know why. Where is God in all of this? Why is this happening to me? What did I do wrong? God had to remind Job that even though Job was in the fire, He is still God.
God is still God. We may never understand it all, but it doesn’t negate God’s sovereignty.
But God does have a word of encouragement for you today. He wants you to know that He not only sees, but He feels your pain. He knows what you’re going through because He’s right there with you in the midst of it all. He wants you to continue to trust Him, even though you don’t understand. He’s offering you His shoulder to lean on. He wants you to take advantage of His grace, because it’s sufficient for you. God is the only sufficient source of power that can come in and aid you through difficult times. And most importantly, He loves you. Never forget that. You must become fully convinced of His love for you.
This would be a good time to get still, and lose yourself in the presence of God. Allow Him to minister to you. Grant Him access into the brokenness of your heart. Allow Him to enter into the dark places that you have made off-limits to everyone else. Let Him do the work in you that is designed to make you better, stronger, wiser, and more spiritually fit. No, it won’t always feel good. But it is for your good.
Never give up. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Keep trusting. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Be encouraged. God loves you.
