In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts,
The whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:1-3 NASB)
This is the vision that the prophet Isaiah saw. Isaiah goes on to say…
“Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” (Isaiah 6:5 NASB)
God gave Isaiah a momentary glimpse into heaven – with his spiritual eyes. Isaiah looked up and saw the Lord sitting on the throne. And He saw angels around the throne worshiping God.
It’s hard for us to really visualize this scene. Because this earth is all we know, it’s hard for us to visualize a place where there is perfection. We’ve been surrounded by brown grass, barren trees, earthquakes, and tornadoes for so long that it’s hard to visualize a place where the sun never ceases to shine, and the summer never turns into a cold and dreary winter.
Heaven has taken on a fairy-tale like state for many. It’s a place they’ve heard about before, but because they can’t conceptualize it with their natural minds, it’s become like a place of make believe… A place that you read about in a children’s book.
But God has given real people – like you and I – a momentary glimpse into heaven. And these people (Isaiah, John…) have testified of what they have seen.
In heaven, they saw a place of such unimaginable beauty and purity … and knew that they were not worthy to be there seeing these things. Isaiah said, I’m unworthy to be here.
Heaven is not a fairy-tale. I truly believe that heaven is a real place.
The Bible talks quite often about heaven. Jesus told His disciples that He was going away to prepare a special place for them, and that they would follow Him later to this special place.
If you believe in God, and if you believe that the Bible is God’s Word that was given to man, then you have to believe the things written in the Word.
Many of the Bible truths have been fulfilled, and many are yet to come to pass. But I must say that so far the Bible has a pretty good track record.
The Bible is the only book that is backed up by God. It’s the only book ever written that has God’s stamp of approval. And I’ve read many good books (I’ve written a few myself!), and have been inspired, captivated, and enlightened but none of the books I’ve read can hold a candle to the Bible.
God’s Word is life-altering. Transforming. The words in this book can bring a grown man to tears. When you come face-to-face with the living God it changes you.
Heaven is for real. Heaven is a place that we all should aspire to go.
Heaven is the final resting place for all who have died in Christ, and all who have kept their garments unstained by sin. Heaven is a reward for all who live holy… all who walk in truth… and all who are pleasing to God.
Strive for heaven. Keep your eyes on heaven. Eternity is a long time to spend anywhere else.
Our desire is to one day hear the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter in and take your rest.”
Heaven is real.

Have you seen the movie “Heaven is for Real?”
Now, I’m not for or against the movie. But I think it may be worth the look.
Heaven is a place that God has to reveal to us. Only He knows for sure.
I just happen to believe that Heaven is real.
