I still believe…
Jesus walked on water.
Jesus fed 5,000 with two fish and five loaves of bread.
Jesus calmed the raging sea (“Peace! Be still.”).
Jesus opened blind eyes, unstopped deaf ears, healed the lame, lunatic, lepers, and rebuked demons.
I still believe…
Jesus Christ is the Messiah — died, rose again the 3rd day, and is seated at the right hand of God.
Jesus is soon to come.
I still believe…
God is real.
God created the heavens and the earth.
God is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.
God is a compassionate God, and has devised a plan to save lost humanity from their sins by salvation through Christ.
God overshadowed Mary with His Spirit and came to earth as a sinless man to save mankind.
I still believe… God loves us immensely and doesn’t want to see any of us lost. Otherwise, how could a God of justice tolerate such evil that exists in the world today?
Man’s disobedience to His laws have persisted since the beginning of time, and yet God has been merciful and long-suffering giving warning after warning, chance after chance, then forgiving us, chastising us, rebuking us, then restoring and forgiving us all over again.
God has been very tolerant of man, but I fear we may be nearing the end of His mercy and grace. Although He is a patient God, He cannot allow man’s disobedience to persist forever on the earth.
Man, through sin, has polluted God’s creation. Everything He created was good, pure, and holy, and yet man corrupted it with his sinful nature, greed, selfishness, and lack of respect for God or His creation. Man has turned away from the holy and pure nature God originally put in us, and has chosen instead to embrace a nature that is vile, immoral, unclean, unholy, ungodly, and rebellious.
How much longer can God allow such degradation and willful disobedience to continue? When will He decide that enough is enough and put an end to it once and for all?
My heart is weeping for the lost. Not only for the lost, but for those who call themselves Christians and have been washed in the precious blood of the lamb, but have not kept their garments unspotted from sin. Instead of living a sinless life of obedience and devotion to God they have chosen to continue on their path of destruction because they’d much rather live life according to their own wills instead of in accordance with God’s.
I still believe that holiness is right, and that God is calling us to be holy as He is holy. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord!
Surely we don’t think that we can continue to defile our temples and God’s created earth and then be allowed to carry our defiled, unholy selves into heaven? God forbid! God may be temporarily tolerating this for a season on earth, but He will never allow heaven to be defiled.
It’s time for us to put away our idol gods, take off our garments of corruption, stop having a love affair with sin and the world, and put on robes of righteousness, which is acceptable to God.
It’s time that we obey God’s laws and live our lives to please Him rather than to please ourselves. It’s time for the church to stand up and be the church, be a light in this dark world, and boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
It’s time to live holy and pure before God; for without it, no man shall see the Lord.
